The Puget
Legends Collection
GOLDENROD · RATKING · SCREAMER · SUPER
Four circuits that changed music. Rebuilt from the schematic.
Not sampled. Not captured. Not profiled. Simulated—component by component.
Why Legends?
Some pedals became legendary because guitarists couldn’t stop chasing their sound. Originals sell for thousands. Clones miss the point. Captures freeze one setting in amber.
We went back to the schematics and rebuilt each circuit at the component level—so you get the real behavior, not an approximation of it. Every knob interaction. Every cleanup. Every weird, beautiful thing the circuit does that the designers didn’t plan.
What Makes This Different
It cleans up like the real thing.
Roll back your guitar volume and GOLDENROD transitions from overdrive to clean boost. SCREAMER goes from full-throated drive to sparkly edge-of-breakup. This is the single biggest thing every other pedal plugin gets wrong. We get it right because we model the actual circuit interaction between your guitar’s output impedance and the pedal’s input stage.
It responds like the real thing.
Pick dynamics, string attack, volume knob position—the circuit responds to all of it because it’s processing signal through simulated components, not looking up a pre-baked response curve. SUPER’s asymmetric clipping opens up as you dig in. RATKING’s filter sweeps interact with the gain stage. The feel is the physics.
It can be modded like the real thing.
Open circuit view. Swap the clipping diodes in GOLDENROD from germanium to silicon. Flip SUPER’s asymmetric stage for a symmetric one. Push RATKING’s filter past where the original pot could go. Every mod that exists on a forum thread, available in one click—plus mods that would destroy the original hardware. Your pedal. Your circuit. Your rules.
The Lineup
“The pedal that started a religion.”
Transparent Overdrive · Clean Boost · Edge of Breakup
Dual germanium diode clipping, clean blend circuit, charge pump voltage doubler. The full gain-knob interaction that captures and clones flatten into a single snapshot.
Modeled After: Klon Centaur
“The filter is the voice.”
Distortion · Fuzz-Adjacent Saturation · Shoegaze Wall
LM308 op-amp hard clipping into the legendary passive filter network. First published WDF model of this circuit—the filter-gain interaction solved from the schematic.
Modeled After: ProCo RAT
“The midrange hump that cuts.”
Overdrive · Boost · Amp Pusher
Single op-amp with symmetrical clipping and the legendary passive tone control. The famous midrange emphasis pushes your signal through any mix. Models the complete circuit including the input buffer, gain stage, and the tone stack’s unique frequency response.
Modeled After: Ibanez TS808
“Asymmetric drive, a little more bite.”
Overdrive · Asymmetric Clipping · Amp Pusher
Op-amp gain stage into an asymmetric silicon-diode clipper — one diode in one direction, two in series in the other. The uneven clipping rounds one side of the waveform and hard-limits the other, producing slightly more bite and a different harmonic blend than a symmetric circuit. Models the JFET buffer, gain stage, and tone network.
Modeled After: BOSS SD-1
Flip it around. Open it up.
Every Legends plugin ships with Circuit View—a real-time interactive schematic of the pedal’s actual circuit. See exactly what’s happening to your signal. Swap components and hear the difference instantly. It’s not a gimmick. It’s the reason we built this engine.
Swap the clipping diodes in GOLDENROD. Hear the overdrive turn from warm and compressed to tight and bright.
Flip SUPER’s asymmetric diode stage to a symmetric one. Same gain, different character — louder and tighter.
The op-amp debate in RATKING, settled by your ears.
The Technology Gap
| Neural / Capture | Clone Plugins | Puget Legends (WDF) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Volume knob cleanup | Snapshot—no real interaction | Approximated | Physically accurate |
| Pick dynamics | Good at captured setting | Fair | Full circuit response |
| Component-level mods | Not possible | Not possible | Full access via Circuit View |
| Knob interaction | Interpolated between captures | Modeled per-knob | Emerges from circuit physics |
| Variants per plugin | 1 per capture file | 1–2 | Unlimited (swap any component) |
